I am moving into my first apartment, and as a college student, am strapped for cash. I have a 75 gallon tank and stand, but need to buy a lights/hood, and resolve my filtration issues. It came with a fluval 403 canister filter. The filter is missing a clip, an o-ring, and hose and some other stuff. Should I bother to buy the parts,or just get a new filter. Media and filter parts I need are going to come to 105$. (a lot of it hose)

I found AC 110's for 42$ new. Should i fix the fluval, or get the 110?

The tank will be fairly stocked.

i would get a xp3 for 90 at bigals but thats new i dont have any experience with the other filters

Xp3 better deal too so i third that

Depends on your budget. Personally, I'd say screw the XP3, go for an Eheim 2217 for only a little bit more, but far better capacities, and the AC110. AC110s are great filters, and are awesome backup to canisters.
