75 gallon Idea

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any parachromis other than a dovii or male jag will work, you may just not be able to have any other cichlids. They bichir should be fine, unless it outgrows the 75. A delhezi or senegal, or other smaller species would probably be better.

Yeah any of them bar dovii and jaguar, i would also leave out the bichir.

Also can see your soon to be best JD on MFK? is that him in the avartar?

No, that's not him in the avatar but he will be better than that! lol It's one of those even the parents of ugly kids think they're the prettiest kids out there! But he is looking 100 times better than when I bought him.

If you're heart is set on Parachromis you will eventually be limited to a single specimen in a 75g, same goes for most large C/A's. With P. motaguense ie, you should get away with a pair for some time, but again, eventually you will be limited to one.

I disagree with those who say male P. managuense will not work in a 75g, most of these people seem to have the opinion that a Citrinellum will work. What's the difference?.

As suggested, P. dovii most certainly will not work for long.

And leave the Bicher out, it will be harassed to near death.

How wide is a standard American 75 (We don't have set measurements over here)? If it's over 18" it's probably fine, if it isn't, certainly not. I wouldn't do it either way.
