75 gallon light help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks to be a pretty good light though I can't tell who the manufacturer is. Those T5 bulbs will give you the power to do just about anything - plus it's backed by a 5 year warranty. Before you buy, I'd see if the seller can swap out the actinic bulbs for 6700ks.

I would by a brand I know from a name I trust . . .

the aquarium lighting is something you're going to be living with for a long time, and you want to make sure it's reliable . . . if you search around a bit, you'll find some horror stories of people who got "great deals" on lighting that ended up shorting-out, burning-out, starting fires, etc.

True dat. It's like buying nicely made foreign cars, compared to American cars which fall apart only a year or so later. :topic:

alright i have compact lighting right now should i switch to HO are is compact fine im looking a catalinaaquarium lights they seem to be fairly nice.

Catalina lights are very nice. The 4x54W T5 fixture is $190 + shipping, probably about $225 total.

T5HO is more efficient than CF, especially when you use individual reflectors.

+1. Power compacts are crap.
