My daughter wants me to put this 75 gallon tank at the foot of her bed. She wants to be able to lay in bed and watch her fish. So I am building the stand so the bottom of the tank will be lever with her bed.

I also have a Kreg Jig. I bought the thing like 15 years ago and have hardly used it. So this seemed like the perfect project to use it again.

It still needs some inside brace for the legs so they won't go forward or backwards.

I used 2x6 boards that I had left over from a barn project. Seems pretty solid so far. I plan on covering it in plywood and painting it black with a door on the front.

Plan on using a canister and running the lines up the side since she will be looking at it both from the front and back.

If you have any suggestions let me know. I am far from a good woodworker.

The tank has been filled on the porch for a couple weeks. A co-worker gave it to me. She had it in a shed for a couple years. So I wanted to make sure it held water. I have been putting tadpoles and minnows from my pond in it just for fun. Plan on shutting that down and moving it inside as soon as the stand is finished.

You better be sure she wants it in her bedroom. Aquariums and filters can make a lot of noise. Especially when the water drops using a HOB filter. It will sound like a waterfall, which I guess some people find soothing. I never did however. :)

Meh, if it becomes a problem, get a good canister filter. problem solved.
