Want a Salvini pair and possibly a few tank mates cichlids such as convict and jd. Interested in getting a bichir that gets only a foot long and possibly a peacock eel. Would like a medium sized shoal and possibly a bottom dwelling shoal. Suggestions would be great. So far i have a fluval 405 i think it is. I want to over filtrate the tank so ill probably pick up an emperor 400 or a couple of aquaclears to throw on it.

I have a simalr setup just a larger aquarium...

120 gallon...(48x24x24)...
4 blood parrots
1 convict cichlid
1 green terror
1 seganal birchir
1 striped pecock eal
1 cichlid that I think is a port acura but not 100%
1 jack dempsey
1 bristelnosed pleco
2 jewl cichlids
2 firemouth cichlids

I would not add as many fish I have in my tank in your 75 gallon beacause IMO all the fish I have would need a 100 gallon minumum and I am not getting many more fish for my 120 anyway... I would do no more than about 10 cichlids that don't surpass 10 inches(most should only get about 6 inches) and 1 peock eal and 1 seganal birchir...

I would not do pairs of fish beacause they can be aggressive... unless they are fish that aren't that aggressive and can't hurt other fish such as blood parrots(2 of the parrots paired off in my 120)...

Oscaroo when all your fish are near full grown your tank will be overstocked. A 4 foot tank is a 4 foot tank to me.

You should just have the salvini pair any other cichlid would just get beat up. A bichir might work but if it goes near the salvini breeding spot it could go badly. Add some silver dollars or a larger schooling tetra if you want a bottom dwelling schooling fish add cories

What do you guys think about 12 cory cats, 8 giant danios, salvini pair and a peacock eel

it won't work with the salvini pair.... the corys will be killed as well as the eel.
