Got a 75 Gallon bare bottom tank and want to keep it spotless until I upgrade. I have 2 AquaClear 110's that I havent even put on it yet along with an Aquatop 13w UV Sterilizing pump. My question is.. Would this be too much on the 75? They have not been transferred from their original tank yet and id like to take advantage of the equipment I have, just dpn't want it to be detrimental to the fish.

My Current stock list is an 8inch Spotted Gar, 3 4inch Peacocks, 4inch Redtail Cat and a 8inch Tiger Bichir.

Thanks for any help, just found this forum and I must say, it's great.

With your current stock list, the more filtration the better! I've got a 75 gal running with an Amiracle 20gal Wet/Dry with 700gph pump, n a Rena XP4 canister. That may b considered overkill to some peeps, depending on fish they keeping. With a stock list like yours, id say "go big", to handle the bio-load of those fish.

About 3 months in this tank. The Cat is going to be given to a friend and replaced with an Ornate Bichir.

And with poop settling on the bottom, would a powerhead help?

You could put a powerhead facing the bottom of the tank on a timer that kicks it on twice a day for 15 min to keep it clean.

Thanks, that's a great idea.

Unfortunately, I'm not too versed with powerheads and did not realize you could set a timer.

Is there a specific model I should look for, or does the everyday powerhead come with the option.
