???
So i just got a 75 gallon show tank. The dimensions are 53"long by 24" tall by 15" deep. I was planning on stocking it with some cichlids such as the lake malawi cichlids, as they are bright in color and they are decent size. However, now I sorta wish to stock with with frontosa's, as they seem fun to have, their colorful, and they get a little bigger.

Would my 75g be too small for a few of them? Id buy them small and grow them up, or would it be better just to go with the lake malawis

My personal opinon is to go with malawis of the alunocara species they get pretty big and are not as agressive as the mumbas and have awesome personality and color:headbang2 You could get away with 6 or so in that size tank with no problems .I think frontosa will need a much larger tank than a 75 to be happy full grown :)

If you put in filtration of around 1300litre/hr you could run that size tank quite easily with 25 mbuna. Build a pile of rocks at each end and you should not have too much trouble with aggression. Don't be shy with the number of rocks though. If you can but the fish at about 1-1,5in so they can grow into the tank. Remember never to add 1 or 2 fish at a time, especially if your fish have grown some what. Always look to adding 4-5 fish and you can also rearrange the rocks. This helps to lessen the possible aggression against the new intruders. Good luck and post some pic's once set up.
:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

i agree, frontosa, julies, leleupi, black calvus, tropheus, maybe a syno catfish

Front will work for a bit, then it will out grow a 75 gallon... faster than it may be worth... I think the mbuna sound great... you could do a colony of dwarf mbuna and mate them...

Oops......If you want decent sized fish them Demasoni are not the way to go.
