i currently have a 29 gallon with a pair of green terrors. The female is too small to breed so I have lighting diffuser in there so she can pass through to get away if she needs.
I was wondering if I should put hem both in a 75 gallon or should I put the male in with a pair of breeding rainbow cichlids I have. Meanwhile I would keep the female gt in the 29 by herself until she was big enough to breed.

Or is it better to just keep a "wet pet" and never add any tank mates with the male. Right now he is only 4" or so.

I would just keep the male green terror in the 75 and maybe even try the female in there since there's more space just provide hiding spots and perhaps some dither fish

I figured the rainbows are terrible about protecting fry and wouldn't be very aggressive while breeding. You think the gt will bother them?

I meant both the gt in the 75 without the breeding pair of rainbows
Never owned rainbows but I do know that when breeding and protecting fry that's when fish get most aggressive

I think that's what I'll do.

But for the record rainbow cichlids are the biggest wimps. They only seem to protect fry from conspecifics and smaller fish like barbs.
