I'm fixing to redo my 75 gallon tank. I'm planning on stacking rocks for caves and stuff, but I also want some kind of plant to cover the bottom of the tank. Like grass if you will, but I don't mind if it's a grass or moss. I don't want to do any CO2 stuff and I want to use normal lights. My substrate will be some kind of black sand.

Is there any grass/moss that would fit this? If not why not? Would the problem be substrate, lighting, or CO2?

Basically I just want the bottom of my tank covered in green of some kind.

try java moss. it grows at fast rates and will thrive in low light. i was going to say hair grass but that would require CO2 nd bright lightd. i think ''cryptocoryne wentii'' will cover the bottom of a tank but i couild be wrong. look up micro sword that will also cover the bottom.

i would go with the moss also, grasses will not grow well in only sand. the moss will grow anywhere but you may need to make a grid for the moss to gorw on. look at the pics of the 75 gallon moss wall and the recreate it on the bottom of your tank.
