Here is my plan for my 75 gallon I'm going to be getting soon.

1x- (male) Gold Suam
1x- Crenicichla (havn't decided which species)
1x- Pleco, I'm thinking Rhino?

I would get a real green terror from Rapps but I think that a Gold Suam looks better. My tank will be set up with a bunch of drift wood, rocks, and plants, perferably live. So what do you think? Could I add dithers?

Thanks
Mike

i don't think you'll need dithers, but i really don't know how aggresive Crenicichla get, i personally love my true gt, but he's very skiddish, so i haven't been able to see his colors well, just make sure the fish are around the same sizes when you get them, other than that you should be good.

It's hard to say because you haven't narrowed down what pike you're getting.

Need to know what species of pike you're getting
How big it gets
If that pike is ok in a planted tank
What the aggression level of that pike is
Growth rate? GT's grow pretty slow, so if the pike grows fast someone might get a beatdown pending aggression level of said pike

Then you can decide if you have room for something like silver dollars

"Dithers" are calming fish to pull shy fish out of hiding or to relax them. This term is used way to much for people putting fish together that aren't gonna like each other thinking smaller fish to take the beating will work.

But there's a certain point where having target fish will work, and another level where aggressive fish don't care about schooling smaller fish they still won't like each other.

Alright I havn't set my mind on the pike on a count of the fact that my LFS's do not know a thing about their scientific names and I don't want to be running back and forth with a pike that's going to get to big for my tank. So it's either risk it with the pike, JD, or salvini. Which would would you do?

salvinis are stunning as well.it really depends on what you like the look of.

looks stunning doesnt it :headbang2

if you put a salvini in with a gold saum that would be a really colorful tank.......that would be really cool........also i tried putting my silver saum in a 75 with my EBJD and they fought constantly.....same size at around 6-7 inches.........good luck though.......
