So right now the fish that I have are, a green terror, a crenicichla sveni (get no bigger than 10"), a green sunfish, and a bullhead that are going into my 75. My question is, if I get ride of the green terror, can I get a grass pickerel?

Thanks
Mike

If you get rid of the GT keep me in mind.

I don't have any experience with a grass pickerel but look at this...

http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/Fishing/aquanotes-fishid/grspiker.htm

"Grass pickerel spawn in the spring when water temperatures range from 43 to 53 F. They migrate upstream and broadcast their eggs into vegetation. Adult grass pickerel feed primarily on fish but do eat some aquatic insects."

I would be a little concerned that they would like the water cooler then some of the other fish you have.

They are fine with the high temps but the problem with pickerel is that they do not defend themselves and I am almost 100% positive it will get dominated in this tank and be killed.

Okay then what could I put in there? I can see if my parents will let me keep the 35 gallon and keep the pike in there. Then I'd have the catfish and the green sunfish in the 75, what else could I put in there? Warmouth, rock bass? I'm not a fan of minnows or anything like that.

Thanks
Mike

The green sunfish may be an aggressor/problem... but you could get a second/third to go with him.

Warmouth and rock bass could work. Greenies are still pretty agressive though. Oh and don't put any kind of pike or pickerel in a 35 unless you can upgrade when it hits like 6-7".

Well I have the green sunfish and the cat, and the sveni so far, oh and the GT. But I could give away the greenie, but I have an attachment to the sveni, and my sister likes the cat so they have to stay. But the rest can go if needed. So if you had to stock a 75 gallon tank around a crenicichla sveni and a black bull head what would you do?

Thanks
Mike

P.S.- keep in mind that I possibly can put the sveni in the 35 and upgrade later.

in that case, sveni in the 35 (w/ upgrade at opportunity), bullhead and green sunfish together, and another green sunfish or two, although 3 total plus the catfish may be a bit much.

The only problem with that is I like diversity in my tank, otherwise it gets boring. I can get rid of the green sunfish. I have a friend that is willing to take him off my hands.

Thanks
Mike
