I must confess it’s not a ONLY planted tank but I also temporarily have a baby datnoid inside I took some recent criticism and acted on it and now I am grateful I listened because now it looks AWESOME atleast I think???
I love how it seems so natural and closed in with the plants but spaced out at the same time, like a lot of swimming room. I would love that if I was a fish!

Some of the actual plant substrate will have added minerals and iron.
It makes things a lot easier but they can be expensive.
I use pool filter sand for substrate and make my own diy root tabs with Osmocote plus.
I buy powdered iron and potassium supplements made for agriculture and mix them myself.
For magnesium I use Epsom salts.
It’s a lot cheaper then buying the supplements marketed to aquarium keepers.
Other then that all you need is good lighting and if you want to really boost everything Co2.
