I have a 75g community and a 20g community. I'm looking to combine the two into one and get rid of the 20 gallon. Certainly there's potential for aggression here, and I'll have to keep an eye on the cardinals and make sure the synodontis isn't snatching them up in the night. Is this stock list something manageable that I can just keep an eye on?

1 Angelfish
1 Synodontis Ocellifer
5 Cardinal Tetras
7 Harlequin Rasboras
2 Yo-yo Loaches
1 Striata Loach
5 Kuhli Loaches
5 Tiger Barbs
2 Bosemani Rainbows
5 Corydoras
1 Clown Pleco
1 Bristlenose Pleco
3 Ottos
1 Splashing Tetra
1 Wood Shrimp
&
1 Powder Blue Gourami
1 Spiny Peacock Eel

Fluorite, numerous plants and driftwood, large HOB, Large sponge filter

1. Angelfish and tiger barbs have trouble together historically. They are notorious fin nippers, and angels have large fins.
2. Peacock eels are usually peaceful, but they might try to eat some of the smaller fish.
3. When all of those fish are full-grown, that is going to be a huge bio-load and you will probably need a bigger tank.

Do you have options if issues arise?

I have had promblems of rainbows chasing other fish constantly. Other than that I think your stock is workable.

Well I'll probably keep another tank on hand if I need to, or simply rehome some of the fish.

Angelfish are such a pain in the ass because they can be aggressive, yet they're such easy targets themselves. You put them in an aggressive tank they'll get their ass kicked, you put them in a mellow tank and they're gonna eat your guppies and neon tetras. And you can't just have an angelfish only tank, how boring is that? But their personality is such that they are usually the tank favorite among everyone in the house.

The barbs and angel are together now at the moment, so they're not really a big concern of the merger. I find that if you have a big enough school of barbs they kinda just chase eachother around. That being said, I think the only reason the angelfish has survived is cuz he's kinda big and can hold his own.

Do you think the bioload is really too much with all those fish? I think it's kind of a mild stocking. With a big 'ol spongefilter and a nice big mechanical filter, as long as I do water changes regularly I should be fine. Though I admit i'm not sure what some of these fish will look like when they mature, I did recently read that my synodontis is gonna be pushing 8 inches.

I was told my peacock eel had a mouth that wouldn't be able to eat other fish, but of course that WAS petco and we know how much they know about fish. (one of the other workers was selling a common pleco to a girl for her 15 gallon with algae problems.....)

Angelfish- 6"
Synodontis Ocellifer- 3"
Spiny Peacock Eel- 6"
1 Clown Pleco- 4"
1 Bristlenose Pleco- 4"
5 Tiger Barb- 2"

I'm not going to go through the rest of your fish, but you can see that the sizes add up when they are full grown fish. What kind of hob filter do you have? I'm not saying it won't work, just think that maybe you might eventually have to remove some.

It's an aquaclear, it's whatever is one size bigger than the AquaClear70. I can't remember what that would be exactly. a 90? 110? Something like that. It's pretty nice, a place for 3 bags of media. And I'll probably add another sponge filter. Though I'm not sure if that much bubbling would be really bad for the plants?

Actually the synodontis get's 7.9 inches according to planetcatfish! I guess I do have some big boys. I will probably have to split them up in about a year.
