I have a 75 gallon up and cycled but empty and its just begging for fish to house. Its lightly planted with sand for a substrate and some driftwood and rocks. I want to go with an amazon theme for the stock and i know i want atleast one cool bottom dweller to go along with some free swimmers or maybe even one or two larger fish. I cant decide on what fish to choose. I prefferably want fish that can be housed for life in the 75 but i do have a 150 i could move a fish into if they would be a nice growout

What about some apistogramma with, corys, and maybe some tetras.

i want a bottom dweller like a catfish for sure but i want something larger than corys that wouldnt hide all the time. Any suggestions on a south american catfish that maxes out at around 10"?

For a bottomdweller I would go with a shoal of Pictus catfish. They are active an have fun personalities.

 these are real fun catfish. When I was younger I had a couple. When I would clean the tank they would come and swim around my hand.

I had mine with a firemouth before, so I would think.
