I moved in early October and didn’t want to sell the fish or tanks so this thread will document the process of moving, relocating and rebuilding a 1200 gallon aquarium system.

Second step drain tank and build cradle to get it off the stand. The tanks is 750 gallons weights 800 lb and was moved by two people only from one house to the other. Unfortunately I didn’t take a lot of pics of the move.

Next we put the tank onto Dolly’s rolled it out of the basement and onto the trailer using 12’ ramps. Left it on the Dolly’s and secured it to the trailer. Then we drove it to our new house backed up to the deck used the 12 ft ramps to roll it off the trailer and onto the deck then into the house. We then rolled it in front of the stand and tillted it until it rested on the cradle. Finally we used a system of blocks, levers and a floor. jack to get the tank onto the standEA2D89C6-EB6B-46B4-B749-49B398924A60.jpegCADD5C86-C1EA-4921-A430-C294464BC681.jpegDA1B9FBC-06E0-4A95-BC5C-9CE717B59872.jpeg
More to come later.

What a Monster of a move. It must have taken a lot of well thought planning to make happen. Thanks for sharing the journey with us.
Nice work. Takes a lot of devotion to your fish just to attempt a move like that.
It was a ton of work. I slowly chipped away at it over a period of 5 months.

Sorry to hear about the bass.

how does the new heater perform in comparison to the old element you were previously using? Which do you find to be better? I was very inspired by your ingenuity of the other set up, I thought it was brilliant.
