Mine is doing alright, but his stomach looks hollow.....I dont get it though. He eats like mad and is growing (he's about 20" now), but it just looks sunken in.

I think your fish is the largest one I have seen in the aquaria. I heard rumors that when these fish get older in the wild they move to more brackish water conditions and may go into full saltwater. This may be the case with yours as he is getting to adult size. I don't know if this is fact but it may be something to consider. May want to try and add some salt to see if it changes things and treat him with a parasite medicine. I like Parasite clear from Jungle. It works very well and is really safe for the fish. Good luck, keep me posted.

So far mine is fat and healthy. I will keep you updated if I see any changes like yours.

Thanks for the tip man, I'll look into that.

Would look 10x better with a background....

But other than that it is pure quality mate!

Thanks, I am working on that actually. The back of the tank is about 3" away from the wall so I may just paint the wall behind the tank black or try to paint the back of the tank or just tape some black background. Any suggestions?

fishyboi, I got them from a guy who bought my 233 gallon tank awhile back. It was getting way to big for his tank and he wanted it to go to a better place.

Opiate, the pima will sooner or later grow out of this tank. Its just a matter of time. I have many other people and friends that I plan on giving the pima too when it outgrows my tank. Or I'll just cook him up. hehe :naughty: Depending on how much I feed him I might have another year or two before I'll have to move him into a larger tank. All I know is that he is much happier now in my tank than what he was in.

due to the chemicals that we add to the water.... most fish kept in aquariums are unedible.... otherwise i would have cooked up my friends full grown pacus by now

Sweet!... That's a mack-daddy tank! any more top-dwellers you plan to add?!!

Love the tank and your new additions, bro! Be sure to keep us posted with it! :) Oh yeah, still looking for filamentosum, btw. Keep me in tune, as I will do the same for you, as well!
