tired of single species tanks so starting up a 75g mixed tank, right now all fish are being housed in a 55g until the 75 is fully cycled, right now i am keeping 1 3" vieja regani, 1 4" L-191 royal pleco, 5 2" synodontis petricola, 1 3" synodontis multipunctatus, and a 11" fire eel, i do understand that the fire eel normally grows to 20" in captivity and my petricolas will probaly max out at 4", these fish have all been together for 3 weeks now with no problems what so ever, it would be nice if the eel would eat some dry food, but atleast it eats worms from my hand, it hasnt even touched the guppies that have been in there since ive introduced it, i guess im a little worried about a fully grown fire eel snacking on my petricolas later on down the road, i guess i dont see it being possible considering the mouth on my eel at this time seems barely capable of taking down smaller rosies, but was wondering if anyone with more first hand expierience knows of fire eels taking on larger prey items, i know a 120g would better suit my stock, but due to space 75g is the biggest i can go, also wondering what v. regani is like as an adult, from what i understand you can expect 10"-12" out of an adult, i hear synodontis usually do well with central american cichlids, but petricolas are not real sizeable, any recommendations are welcome, would really like to keep the fire eel as this one acts most like an actual pet, mine is very interactive, outside of all that tank will be decked out in sand, black slate, river rocks, driftwood, and a bunch of fake plants (hornwort, amazon sword, pygmy chain, floating lily pads, etc) filtration is 2 aquaclear 70's
