I currently have a AquaClear 110 filter on my 75g. I want to add another filter. Should I get another AquaClear 110 or a Canister Filter?

right now I just have a 1.5" Jack Dempsey in it. Plane to add some spotted Raphael Catfish and maybe some dither fish in the near future.

I personally would add another 110 and have 1 on each corner of the 75 gallon. I suggest adding a couple of fish at a time to give bacteria a chance to grow according to bioload. This will prevent a mini cycle. You will get different opinion's on filter choice's.

I agree with Tom, to me HOBs are much easier to do maintenance on than canisters, so in my opinion better.
There is nothing magic about a can, except that if you slack off on maintenance (because they are maintenance user-"un" friendly), they become nitrate factories.

Agree on the AC110s. They offer the most mechanical and bio media of any HOB this size. I currently have a Seachem Tidal 110 on my 75g and do not like it nearly as much as the AC110 it replaced. I had to move the AC110 to another tank which is why I tried the Seachem tidal 110 in the first place.

I also run a Marineland C360 canister on my 75, but if that ever gives me major issues, I'll have two AC110s on this tank.
