Ive got a 75g tank that im using to grow out several fish such as red texas, parachromis la cieba and carpintis x RT mota hybrid. All of these are under 2.5" now, but will probably be uber agrresive when they get another inch or two (already showing territorially aggression). My question is should I not put any hiding spots such as driftwood, caves, etc in order to diffuse their sense of territory to keep the aggression down, or is this the exact opposite of what I should be doing? Right now, ive got it heavily landscaped and there arent enough hiding spots for the smaller ones so they just hang out near the top and slightly stressed. There are a total of 20-30 fish in there now. What do you guys think? I dont want the smallers ones to "wander off" near an opening where a larger one is growing and get snapped in half. By the way, I dont use substrate either as its easier for me to clean during water changes.

What do you guys think?

Not sure what the final stock will be. I'll probably just keep it as a grow out tank. Once the others get larger, i'll keep a few select specimens of each and sell or trade off the rest.

Anyone else have any input?

i would definately add more hiding spots. i'd make them all different sizes so the smaller ones don't have to compete with the larger ones for space

yup, if you want an aggressive grow-out tank, you'd best have one or more hiding spots per fish . . .

Yes, the more hiding spots the better. Cichlids need their own territory. Mix it up once in a while when you clean the tank.
