I have a LFS in town that always has 75G tanks and larger for sale. I asked the lady how much and she stated $75. She said the only thing is it needs to be resealed and that it wouldn't hold water. It looked identical to a All Glass 75G tank. It had the cross bracing for it as well. Is there anyway to use these for aquarium use? The glass was a good 1/4 of an inch. It was used for some reptile. I think she just didnt want to sell it b/c it would've been sold cheaper than her other 75G aquarium tanks, and she would've somehow taken a loss.
Is it possible, has anyone had any luck in doing something like this? Thanks!!

Is it one of those critter cages or is an actual aquarium? If aquarium grab it up, clean it well, and reseal:D

It looks like a actual aquarium. No different than any other 75G tank that say petco or petsmart sells. The lady did say that it housed a snake or lizard. She mentioned that one guy bought it off of her and tried to seal it and use it as a fish tank but it wouldnt hold water, so he returned it. She insists that is for dry use only and if I bought it then she wouldnt be responsible for any damages.
Do you think its worth it? I can probally talk them down on the price a few bucks as well!

Well it may not held water because the last guy didnt reseal it correctly. As far as reptiles being in it just clean it very well. The thickness on glass for a 75 gal aquarium is 5/16 ths. So I would take a tape measure and check thickness. Also does it have the tempered glass sticker on bottom glass? If so beat em down on price as best you can and go for it. Just remember when resealing get all silicone out and wipe down throughly with acetone before applying new silicone.

On tempered glass aquariums they will have a orange/red sticker on the bottom middle crossbar facing up into the aquarium. You can see it by looking down into the aquarium.

yup. It'sa sticker that says "TEMPERED GLASS, DO NOT DRILL" or something along those lines.
