Hello all,

I’m currently looking for stocking suggestions for my 75g salt water tank. I’ve got about 50lbs of live rock (need more, I know), some mushrooms, zoanthid polyps and xenia but I’ll probably never become too bold with corals in this tank. At the moment, I’m running with the following fish crew:

X1 Pseudochromis diadema (diadema dottyback) 1.5 inches
X1 Centropyge argi (pygmy cherub angel) 1.5 inches
X2 Amphiprion ocellaris (ocellaris clownfish) 1 inch
X1 Chrysiptera parasema (yellow-tail damsel) 1 inch
X1 Valencienna puellaris (orange diamond spotted goby) 3 inches

Ideally, I’d like to find something that is reef safe and more of a tank centerpiece (larger) but I’m open to any ideas. Right now everyone gets along but I want to avoid setting off that balance by adding the wrong thing. Is it possible to add multiple gobies to the same tank without inspiring aggression? If so, will my goby view other similar shaped fish, like blennies, as a threat? Any advice would be appreciated.

in a 75 the goby should have staked out his claim and it shouldn't be the entire tank.. you could probably get away adding a few more depending on what species

for other fish i would recomend
doliatus rabbitfish
four or six line wrasse
bimaculatus hogfish
a pair of fairy or flasher wrasses
small harem of anthias maybe?
flame cardinals

Thanks for the info! Do you have, perhaps, any suggestions on what other species of gobies may work?

yellow watchman
wheelers
yashia
barberpole
aurora

pretty much anything under 5" you could get more than one of

things like jawfish or firefish should be counted as "gobies" cause ecologically they're basically the same

Again BIG, thanks for your responses to my questions. However, I think I've encountered a new problem. I purchases a beautiful blue sided fairy wrasse from the LFS the other day and my pygmy angel kicked the crap out of it. I had to dismantle my rock to catch the wrasse so I could give it a new home at a friends house.

I'm really thinking that I might have to go for fish that are of a substantial size or at least of similar temperament to my angel. Do you, or anyone else out there who happens to be reading of this, have suggestions for tank stock that 1) can run with the angel and 2) won't kill the angel? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

some kind of foxface or tang would be fine, anthias are usualy reddish in color he'd probably leave one alone

my pygmy is a pushover so i never had any problems with him and agression

What about a butterfly?
Also at my store we have a Hawaiian squirrel. It gets about 7 ish inches and is bright red. I think it's cool looking. squirrels do tend to hide a lot though. They are used to deeper parts of the ocean where it's dark.
just something to consider.

Speaking of 75 gallon... is there any shark that would be suitable?

not at all most SW shark's need a huge tank of at least 300+ gallon's but you can keep alot of other nice predator's in a 75 gallon.
