I currently only have a JD, Red Spotted Severum, and a Threadfin Acara in my 75g tank. What tank mates would do well with them? They all get along well only occasional JD chasing other out of his territory. All around 3-4 inches

That would probably fill in the tank IMO. Will see what the more experience keepers have to say.

Im no expert but Id agree that the tank is probably about full. You might be able to get away with a smaller bottom feeder like a bristlenose pleco or pictus cat. A convict might also be ok as they stat smaller.

I think your maxed out, wait until the Jack and severum are 8inches+, including the acara they will fill up the tank nicely, but there could be territory issues later when all full grown.

That’s why I would rather be on the more overstocked side so there is no territorial aggression as they get bigger. I feel like every tank I’ve seen on the overstocked side is a peaceful tank compared to a normal stock tank full of aggression

Some of those tanks that get over stocked are Mbuna. Most times with other cichlids it depends on each individual personality.

If your tank is currently peaceful I wouldn't go adding fish, I think bio-load wise your tank will be about stocked with your current residents, and more cichlids may mess up the balance. Smaller non-cichlid tankmates may be tough with the JD especially if it's a male. Perhaps an ancistrus that's too big to be eaten is all I'd add. Will probably need a large % weekly WC schedule. I aim to keep nitrates at or below about 20 by end of week usually, test kit will tell you how often should be changing it.
