I want a large pair of something. Like JDs.

Suggestions?

If you define large as a pair of JD's youll be ok

but large+pair wont = 75 gallons.

If you aren't sold on the JD's you could do a pair of any of the following:

Severums
Carpintis
Salvini

Some of the larger 12" cichlids would fit as a wet pet in a 75, but not as a breeding pair.

Ok, so maybe large wasn't the word to use.
I have primarily kept smaller fish, with the exeption of a few plecos and other cats, so I am looking for something in the 7.5"-9.5" range, (bigger than a large convict but smaller than say an Oscar type cichlid).
I don't mind peacefull fish but I have had a bunch of peacefull fish and wan't a change.
I like the JDs but they seem just too common.
The Texans are pretty fish and I think I'd like a pair but I can't get much info on them.:irked:

I have a female texas (not exactly sure which species...) who's pretty cool. Very laid back, but with a little bit of edge....So given that, I think a pair would be cool.

Texas are great fish and easy to keep. They get around 10-12''. They like a more veggie based diet, but do need some meat. They aren't picky as far as water params go, and are very hardy fish. They can be very aggressive, that depends on the personality of the fish.
I love JDs even if they are common.

Are you just looking for a pair, wet pet or a community tank?

Definatly not a comunity tank, would love a pair but would go with a wet pet if I find a fish I MUST HAVE.
I would love some red terrers but think they get too big for a 75g.

severums, green terror, JD, grammodes, istlanum, loisellei, friedrichsthalli, texas, bartoni, synspilum, fenestratus, zonatus..any of these would most likely work but for some you'd need to keep a divider handy if you decide to try and keep a pair. :)
