Thoughts on my 1st DIY sump attempt. This is for a 240g 8x2x2. It's a glass 48" 75g aquarium. I'm running 2 - 2" pvc drains into 2 7" round socks that will drain down, then back up and over into the bio filter (still on the fence for sand and live rock), back up and out of the bio, over the bubble walls, though a sponge and over into the pump area where I'll have 2 Mag 18s feeding 2 - 1" returns. IDK which protein skimmer to use yet. It will feed back into the bio to be refiltered. Sorry for the poor drawing Fu.

Thank you,

I'm guessing with the live rock and skimmer this is for a salt tank? Kinda important to include details like that! ;)

I'm no expert on marine sumps, the one thing I'd suggest is looking at something like Laguna pumps instead of the Mags, you'll be glad you did when you receive your first power bill!
