Hi there everyone,

been awhile since I last posted here.. Anyways the title says it all.

Ive been getting in the swing to setup a 75g. tank with tanganyikan cichlids.

Whast the best way to go about this, I would like a mixed surrounding of them.

defiantly want a bunch of "shellies" , neon blues "if applicable?" julie's, 2-3 moori's, and maybe 2 fronts?

I'm planning to do pool filter sand bottom, with mixed river type rocks and a few pieces of fake drift wood on opposite side of tank, and a couple silk plants to add feeling.

Opinions please upon what to stock tank with.

i've got some tangs in my sig:naughty::D:headbang2

when you get your stones, i recommend going to a quarry or stone dealer for landscapers instead of paying the prices you would at a lfs. for the price of a couple pieces of rock at a lfs, you can fill your tank:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

Hi mike, Im glad you cherped in. Always good advice. Figured the fronts might be too much for the tank, I believe they would be h. Moori. Such as red belts or firecracker?

What about some brichardi's in the mix. So it'll be shellies, Brichardi's, julies, moories, and maybe another.

As for rocks, We have two local stone dealers. One is 3 miles away =).

That list sounds better...

H moori are haps from lake malawi. Not even the right lake. They get big as well, and can out grow the tank and eat your fish. Which Moori are you speaking of? Get the scientific full name so I can be clear. LOL

Thanks mike!

I was reading they can be rather aggressive? But they are mainly herb. eaters. Thought it would be an okay mix if i had 4-5 of them together. guess not!

Any other suggestions for stocking?

Just looking for a good mix that makes the tank look full per say.

Like to see bottom swimmers, and upper mid / top swimmers.

2-3 black calvus, 3 julies, 4 brichardi's, 2-3 neolamps? and maybe a V. Moori?

I know im just going off here, but just an idea
