I picked up a 75g tank and stand from a friend a few days ago and I noticed the trim had a split in it between the center brace and corner. I filled it up outside earlyer and watched the split to see if it got wider as it filled up but it never changed. Would it be ok or should I replace the trim?

I can't tell from the picture, is this the top or bottom trim? if it is the bottom it is an easy fix. I have two with broken bottom trim that I fixed and have held up for years with now problem.

If you want to make it a nice tank, the trim isn't necessary, however, something is needed to reduce the deflection across the 4' span. You can accomplish this by eurobracing the tank and removing the trim, repairing the trim, or replacing it. Whatever you choose, GL! lots of resources here to assist.

Its the top trim thats broke, I dont care about looks its going to be in a fish room. Is there a way to fix the trim without taking it off?

You can put a strap aroud it, you can bond another piece of plastic to the existing frame, etc. Numerous ways to bond plastic for that application.
