Alright, currently in my 75g:
5 congo tetras (3m 2f) grow 3.5-4"/ea
3 bichirs (delhezi, sen, albino sen) grow 9-14"/ea
1 african butterfly grows 4"
1 reedfish grows probably 1.5-2' in aquaria.

I'm told the reedfish does best with friends. Should I get maybe 2 more? I'd be waaay overstocked then right? I don't have any plans for a bigger tank set in stone.

They call it a "love-a-buddy" deal when you buy 3 or more.
Reedfish do great in groups of 3 or more and are really fun to watch. And IMO you won't be overstocked.

Agreed. Ropes* don't add near as much bioload as most long fish since they're so skinny and they're much happier in groups.

Ropefish, reedfish, both common for the same fish, erpetoichthys calabaricus.

Ok, and the current rope/reed fish has been established in this tank for about a month. Would it be aggressive towards other reed fish introduced to its territory?

No...
You won't be overstocked with those fish... I have twice the fishes you have... :)
