Finally getting my 75g on Friday. I’m so excited. Been waiting so long ?. Going to try to put it in my room and if they have anything suitable for a 75 for life that I’ve been already looking into like a jag cat or some type of other catfish that’s interesting and I fall in love with then I’ll be buying. I already have cycled water to put into the tank so I can add my fish as soon as possible. Let me know if there’s any reason I should fill the tank with tap water and let it cycle for a while because I’m still considering doing that. Not entirely sure yet. I just wanted to let it be known that my problem is solved. FINALLY. And I’m going to be starting all over and this time I’m not going to be stupid when picking the stock.

Happy to hear it’s coming!
Remember, cycled water technically isn’t a thing. Bacteria rests in filter Meadows and substrate. Be sure to use lots of filter media, decor, and substrate from your other tanks. Even then I would give it time just to be sure it’s cycled.
Lots of stocking options come to mind, but a flowerhorn makes that tricky.

Yea I know. I’m going to have a lot of cover on the bottom for my catfish or whatever I get (will for sure be some type of catfish) and going to have to build the stock around what the flowerhorn wants lol but yea I have a 2 filters 2 heaters and going to be putting in all the decorations I have for a month or two before any fish go in. Also I’ve been working on my flowerhorns manners by putting a small shiner in with him. Not there anymore I ended up using it as fish bait lol but at first he’s just curious and then loses all interest. I hope he stays like that but probably won’t be nice forever

Glad to hear. Best of luck.
Man, almost none of it was my work. It’s all you. I never even knew that place you told me about existed without your help I’d most likely have a bunch of dead fish soon. Thank you dude you’re actually amazing. I really appreciate the help

Aggression seems to come with age. Past the 4-6 inch mark most cichlids tend to show their true colors.

Going to try to get the flowerhorn with his new tank mates as fast as possible while they’re still young. I’m sure he won’t beat up his brother/sister figure ??

Haven’t kept one personally but I’ve seen the horror stories.
Even cichlids generally nicer go on murder sprees.

All we can do is hope.
my lil daisy is an angle she wouldn’t hurt a fly.?
That was a lie she ate many many many flies that ended up in the tank trying to get out of the water. I’ve also seen her jump and grab a fly out of the air. Very impressive I wish I was recording it

you know what I would recommend? just a flower horn. by not having other fish around him the flower horn can only interact with YOU so you can keep it as a "wet pet". That's how flower horns are supposed to be kept as anyways.
