Well I decided to turn my 75gal into a mbuna setup. I went with:

5-CYNOTILAPIA SP. MBWECA
5-LABEOTROPHEUS FUELLEBORNI "OB"
4-LABIDOCHROMIS CAERULEUS
5-PSEUDOTROPHEUS ESTHERAE

Might add a few more in a week or so. Im thinking Chilumba or Demasoni something with a nice blue. Would it be ok to add 1 auratus?

don't add the auratus...you can..but as a rule, they are a pain in the butt...most...ALL melanochromis are grumps....yeah some demansonis are nice...i personally like a male crabro...they turn solid black and beautiful

melanochromis johanni arent so bad...

ive got 1 male in a 55 gallon with some peacocks and other mbunas, and yes more of an annoyance to the other fish than a "grump"

its like he likes to cause trouble, he taunts other fish but never really bites them

After doing some research the crabo seems to be just as aggressive if not more then the auratus in some cases. It might be a case of trail and error with these guys. Anyways im loving my setup just went out and bought a all black backround decided to use black over the blue side. Seems to really bring out the colors in the yellows, and oranges.

I was planning on trying to feed them cucumber, if they don't eat it im sure the pleco will.

Also what is a good white or black sand to use with mbuna? Something that doesn't get stirred up when they dig? Also what white sands are good for not growing algae, i heard some sands can break out in algae?

Anyways thanks for the replys guys

PS. I really like the crabo looks awsome!
