I have never kept Central/South American cichlids before, but I have been keeping African for several years now. I have started doing some research and reading everything I can online and I think I have decided to go with south americans for my new tank.
I just set up a new 75gal a few weeks ago and while I am cycling it I am trying to plan my stock list but I'm stumped.
Any sugestions would be great. And any advice you have for a South American noob would be appreciated.
Thanks

personaly, i would try some of the more rare cryptoheros type, sajica, spilurus, nanoluteus and so on. a pair of jack dempseys is always impresive aswell

Get a Chocolate Cichlid. They get so nice looking when they color up. Not very aggressive and have very strange swimming habits :).

My favorite SA cichlid is a Green Terror. It was my first fish EVER & he wasnt terribly difficult to keep, he was nicer compared to most GT's though... yea GT's are very mean just a heads up :D:D:D:D:D

I have a gt with a severum and firemouth currently in my 75 with 5 silverdollars...its working fine now for 5 months, but keep in mind I have spare tanks to move them should they not get along.
