so im thinking of starting up a tank with community fish that just keep breeding!! what fish should i get and how many do i have to buy to get it started?

10 cory catfish, 6 angelfish or discus, or 10-15 african cichlids all would breed well. Discus are a little harder.

When you say “Community Fish” are you referring to non-cichlid tropical fish? Like Tetras, Mollies, etc? Or do you mean any fish that can be peacefully kept in groups?

Back in the 80s around Detroit the Term “Community Fish” meant little tropical non-cichlids… I don’t hear the term used the same these days though…

PS - Aquarium guy… I’m going to have to start smoking pot again to try to see if I can make sense of your signature… lol

go with a lot of smaller cichlids and live breeders, so the live breeders fry will feed the fry of the cichlids if it doesn't get eaten by the adult cichlids
