i am converting my malawi tank to american do you think that the following stock would work:

texas cichlid pair
female red terror
pleco

i have an exellent filter its an atman rated for a 125g

I think it would be fine. Just , like always, keep an eye on things. You should post a pic of your red terror. I am just getting into these and would love to see a pic of yours.

im going to say it's pretty doubtful. This combination will work while they are small. Once the hit 5-6 inch mark i think the tank will be too small to prevent aggression issues. Especially with a female festae, which have been rumored to be even more aggressive than the males. I wouldn't keep the texas cichlids in there, the pleco should be okay....although my festae fin-nipped the hell outta my pleco. you could try the festae with a polypterus but again, no guarantees with a festae. just my opinion, GL.

it will work till they get bigger then you will need to upgrade to a 8 ft tank so they dont fight all the time even then they might but some festae females just turn out crazy so be ready for it
