It's been a month since my last update...so here goes...
- The Arulius Barbs are still breeding like rabbits. I would like to trade the Arulius Barbs out for Filament Barbs (like I originally wanted) since the Arulius probably won't grow large enough to co-exist with the Oscar.
Does anyone know where I can find Filament Barbs (Puntius filamentosus or Dawkinsia filamentosa) in the SF Bay Area? I can't seem to find them anywhere.
-I added almost 2 Liters of Seachem's Purigen to the tank and it absorbed all the tannins that my driftwood is still leaching into the water. Check out how crispy the water is looking...even though I haven't done a water change in 2 weeks:

Below are the before and after pictures...the second picture was 3 days after I put Purigen in the sump. For some reason, the water always looks hazy in photos, but I think even in these shots you can see a difference viewing the 10' length of the tank. I'm a fan of Purigen...the stuff works.

- I bought a Pink Tail Chalceus (the yellow pelvic fin variety) that's currently in quarantine...he will go into the big tank in 3 weeks.

Arulius Barb fry in the sump...they are starting to get big.
