around 200-210 gallons.

Either gonna be a frontosa tank or a south american tank... i cant decide.

If I go the south american route I'm worried about agression and death between large fishes...

I'd like to stock the tank with 1 pair red tiger (moto), 1 pair true green terror, and 1 pair festae... hows that sound? All would be purchased as juvenile and the fish that I dont want will be culled down to 2pair each... but that is just 6 fish. I would also throw in a catfish... a hopolo or some pictus.... I dont think I could do that with fronts.

What do you guys think?

3 pairs of large aggressive cichlids is a big no no. You could probably fit 6 individual fish, but not if they are paired up and breeding.

You could do a CA cichlid community.

I agree the pairs would be problems, with a seven foot long tank though I believe 2 pairs would be possible. You would need to be of similar sized species also.

If you do go with a mix, even all males you'll probably have less problems if you make the tank more crowded. Even with all males they will establish territories and could create problems if not enough room. With overstocking they will be too crowded to establish territories

for a cat fish look at Synodnotis Eupterus or "Lace Catfish". Really beautiful fish, get roughly 8", you could fit a few. I have some pictures in my gallery, check them out!!

I've heard of that overstocking to prevent aggression tactic... but I don't like overstocking... so thats out of the question.

Once I had a 45 gallon tank with a pair of salvini, a texas and a some clown loaches and a large talking catfish... that was a cool tank
