I have the option to buy the above size tank which is as big as I can fit.

Its been a good few years since I kept bigger fish but I do like Clown kNifes, Fire Eels, Spotted Gars, Bichirs and catfish.

Out of those fish which could I keep in that size tank? And do you have suggestions for interesting larger fish for that tank size.

Also is it too narrow or too small for any rays if I didn't keep any other bottom dwelling fish in there ?

Thanks

Simon

Can keep some polys like lapradei, ornate, Weeksi, and teugelsi. Could consider a black spotted eel, m dayi. For catfish...I’d go with vulture catfish. Can keep some odoe pikes for the upper levels. Even hydrolycus tatauaia would work.

The 2' width is limiting you more than the 7' length. If you're trying to do monster fish, obviously a 3' wide aquarium would be better. For me personally, I wouldn't put anything that gets bigger than about 16" in this aquarium. You have a lot of great options at that size though.

Lots of cool catfish spceis youl could get in a tank that size, I would check out the Pc Cat e Log and filter for cats under 18 inches to find some you like.https://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/
In my opnion a school of 3-5 lima shoevelnose would look amazing :)

I know I'd prefer a 36" one but it would stick out too much in the space it would go in the garage.

Lima’s are a good under appreciated catfish. Bolt catfish too.
