I remeasured my room and am thinking about getting custom dimensions to fit the space I have. I emailed tenecor for pricing on an acrylic ... Hoping that the pricing on this won't be outrageous as their 300g pricing is very affordable. . . This tank would be just over 400g.

What does everyone think about a tank this size?

Main purpose would be rays ... Would like it to fit in my just over 7 foot wide office :) Otherwise I have to put an 8 foot tank on the length of the room which provides not much room for my desk :(

you are crazy, but insanity is a good thing here. The bigger the better. a 7x4 is ideal for rays, gars, polypterus, so go for it!

I am even thinking of maybe doing a plywood build ... This would be a lot cheaper than buying a tank and would give me more money to do other things with...

Building a tank with a window would be too much right now for me. So sticking with aquarium, but if anyone has suggestions on who to go through for best pricing and craftsmanship .... would love input. Am thinking tenecor at this point, but am unsure how much this custom sized tank would run me.

I can never find anything wrong with a big tank

I have a Tenecor price sheet on my desk top. I can't seem to attach it? I will give you a few prices. They don't make your exact dimensions stock but you can get an idea. They can build anything.
LxWxH
48x48x24 $1542 no holes or filters, just tank and lids.
96x48x24 $3258 same as above
120x48x24 $4310 " " "

I have the whole price sheet but I can't attach. I'll send you an e-mail attachment if ya want?

I live in the same town as Tenecor, Tempe AZ. All my used acrylic tanks are old Tenecors and I love their quality. Very happy with them and I'm very happy to continue buying used :) I paid $1000 for my 450 gallon with stand pumps two 55 gallon sumps buckets of bioballs :screwy:
I love this company!

Thanks Egon .... I have one bookmarked. I'm hoping the one I want to build isn't that expensive because the 96x36x24 is only about $2100 with holes and overflows and lid ... I am hoping it doesn't go up much by shortening it a foot and widening it a foot... Fingers crossed. I am hoping they quote me about $2500.

I'd love to get your tank setup for that price .... wow.
