Hi folks,
I took in a RTC that was living in at 50gal aquarium and temporarily give it more space in my 150gal. Heeding the advice of fellow MFK, I am looking to find her a forever home with a sizable pond (or massive aquarium) to eventually move to. MFK’ers suggest rehoming while it’s still small and manageable.
She’s put on a lot of weight (and size) and is always hungry. When I got her, she was already showing signs of stunting, and had gill curl on both sides— one side has resolved on its own since it’s now continuing to grow.
Diet: shrimp (dried, raw, or frozen), raw fish (previously frozen, unless it’s sushi leftovers), raw squid (occasionally, previously frozen), mealworms (Live or dried), earthworms, gut-loaded crickets, and home-grown convict cichlids that wander too close.
Does not like pellets, but I haven’t yet tried Massivore or carnivore-specific pellets, only Hikari-Gold sinking, and soldier-fly-larva and black-worm pellets.
I adore catfish, and would LOVE to trade my RTC for a smaller species. However, I am open to offers. I’m more concerned with finding the RTC a sufficient home than anything else. I would not be able to provide her with adequate space for another 3-4 years, as my next set-up will only be 800gallons. Gender is unknown, but I’ve been referring to it as female
