8-10in cat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
around 8-10" are my favorite catfish called Jaguar Catfish

They Jaguars ive seen hide all day, doesnt seem like arrows taste. If you like Pims, a more common one is Pimelodus blochii or four lined pim.

I actually found a cat at my lfs today that resemles a jag but with larger patches.
It was shaped just like an rtc but was dark brown with large tan patches.

It was labeled as a chocolte but def was not a raphael either.

Any thoughts on what it might be? Possible hybrid?

Sound's interesting. Got any pic's to help id.

Yup thats the one

Unfortunately its gets alot larger than I'd like but its a beautiful looking cat.

I ended up going with a spotted pim, doesnt get too big but so far I'm loving it.
It was cheap, is very active, looks great eats anything, and makes quick work of any leftover food scraps on the floor of my bare bottom tank.

Thanks for the help

Thinking of adding a catfish to my collection.

I really like spotted pims but would like something that gets a lil bigger.
I'm also a fan of rtc's and tigs but they are obviously too big.

Is there anything smaller thats fairly common?
Have you thought about natives? Yellow Bullheads max out at about 18 inches.....but grow real slowly after about 10.

Pictus get to about 6" but are EXTREMELY active and very fun to watch. They might not be the monster you're looking for, but they make up for it with high energy and huge barbels.
