would a 8-9" BGK be ok with 3 4" cichlids and 1 7" geo.. I have 2 bichirs in there with the cichlids and they leave the bichir alone... Tank size 55gallon...

What kind of Cichlid are we talking about? The others would be fine. If it was a JD or Oscar, probably not a problem...maybe a Convict or a Jewel would pick a fight...Doviis and Jags would kill the BGK.
As long as there is plenty of territory for all fish, I would keep an eye on it. I'm not familiar with Nics, but the other 2 should be fine. I forgot that I've actually kept a BGK with some Convicts before. They were fine, but I did have a lot of hiding spots in the tank.
I once tried a BGK in a very similar setup. It was a 5" BGK in a 55g tank with 3 bichirs and 3 cichlids at 4-5": a GT, a salvini, and a hybrid (mayan x ???). It all worked fine until the GT started picking on the hybrid, so the hybrid started to assert its dominance over the BGK. A couple of weeks after moving the BGK out, the hybrid moved on to bullying the polys. So I moved him out. Since then the tank has been in perfect harmony.
