8 day trip to Disneyworld - Feed or not?

depends.

most situations no problems. except

1) you have fries
2) you have one of those fish when hungry gonna eat his tank mates.

I have gone 2 weeks without feeding and the fish were fine.

It depends on what you have. If I don't feed my Malawi tanks for that length of time they will definitely turn on each other, and it's NOT pretty.

I agree with everyone else mostly. The fish will be okay not eating, but their behavior may change. If they are even remotely aggressive now it will probably only escalate. My advice would be to get an auto feeder or have someone feed them at once or twice while you are gone

Getting someone to feed can be problematic. Your risking over feeding witch is worse IMO than not feeding at all. If you can't get a fellow fish guy to feed for you just don't feed em

depends on species... most predetory fish do rather well on a fast... but species like cardinal tetras will die w/out food for that long. young fish also fair worse off then mature fish... and as ponted out some fish can and will turn on tank-mates when hungry... if you feel the need to have them fed.. have someone stop by mid point. have a bag of food already pre portioned ect... make it idiot proof.. and have them fed once while your gone. specific directions particularly if more then one tank, and a number they can reach you at if they have questions. we vacation every year for 1-2 weeks and this has been my stratagy for success... haveing someone fish savvy is good, but someone who understands how much you care about your pets imo is more important... they are going to call you if they notice any small thing, the "fish savvy" person may wait until it's to late, depending on how much they truely know.

Had a bad experience with friend helping with the feeding.
