I have an 8sh" mala in a 120 gallon by himself, he is my favorite fish by far, but to be honest, he tends to lack in the active category. I've seen aimras kept with neons once large enough to not care about them, but I'm not sure if the same would go with my mala? I'm not set on neons either, I know that celestial danios are smaller and therefore may attract even less attention. Let me know what you guys think!

I think they'll get eaten but worth a try and just keep ur wolf well fed. If ur mala was close to full grown I'd say u got a chance. This is with the smaller celestial danios.

I may wait until he gets closer to 10" then try it, but whenever I do, I'll let you know how it goes

I keep my foot long Mala with Cory's,a 4" pike cichlid a big cray fish and had 2 clawed frogs with him till my cat snatched the frogs 1 night. If it don't bother him he don't eat it but that's just my wolfIMG_20151205_125448315.jpg IMG_20151208_185141138.jpg IMG_20151220_150035033.jpg

I had a foot long mala that didn't bother small fish that were present before him but if I added small fish he ate them since he was already in the tank. Same thing with my current curu, he didn't eat my small bichir that was half his length and many times smaller in girth but I added catfish that were closer to his size and he'd try to eat them, and he succeeded with a goby that was larger than the bichir

from previous post. either neons or danios. have them in first before you add the wolf. see how that goes. but the wolf prob be hungry so idk lol

Well he's been in the tank since 3" and no far nothing has survived more than a few minutes, including a bream longer than him

My old mala even went after guppy fry...

It would be interesting to see this combination at this size. You know after Xmas you got a tin of chocolates and its in the fridge. Lol
Every night two or three disappears from that tin. ;) wonder who is eating all that :D
