My 8''-9'' inch peacock bass hit the glass hard, as I threw a ball to my dog.... he went 4 feet across tank and smashed his mouth... now he has a deep indent between eyes and upper jaw/lip.. he is eating like a pig still...should I be worried??? been 3 days.. indent turned pink now .. kelberi... know a pic will help.. my phone is poop... I will try...

No much you can do except keep nitrates below 20ppm
Thanks man. He is still eating well... did an extra water change still kinda pink in coloud like a band across the nose. Poor guy, hope he makes it out ok.. been like 5 or 6 days when do ya think I am in the clear??

as long as it’s eating it’s fine. My pb had worse with bony tongue sticking out from lower jaw. I had to take it out and gently guide it back into mouth.

It is a good sign that the fish is still eating and as bad as the injury looks I was expecting worse. It does not appear to be disfigured, just a severe briuse that should heal over time.

Are you able to zoom in its like a crease gill plate to gill play

No he can still eat and do the PB yawn... mouth seems to be working fine...jus built a indoor pond for the two PB I have they were out of that grow out tank next week.. but think I will leave them for another week.. the stress of moving him might screw up his healing process?
