HEY! I bought a Red Belly Pacu from a local fish store around from my house. I had her since she was the size of a half dollar. I had NO idea about the history of these fish when I first bought her, so I placed her in a 16 gallon tank thinking it was big enough for her. Boy, I was SOOOO wrong! She's now grown to the length of about 7" to 8" long. She's WAY to big for her 16 gallon tank, and I feel HORRIBLE for having her couped in that small tank. She's really friendly! Whenever I go to sleep at night, I turn off my room light, and she picks up one of the beads or rocks from the tank floor, and bangs it against the glass until I get up. And shes so used to the dark because I NEVER turn on the fish tank light anymore. Anytime I do, she goes NUTS and starts banging up the tank glass pretty hard. She's never broke it though. But she's broke two filters already.

Anyways, shes in need of a NEW home BADLY! I'm located in the East Bay Area, local cities are (Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, and Milpitas) she's free to anyone who can provide her a roomy and lovable home, and you pick up in Fremont. If I deliver her to you, I'm asking for a small adoption fee of $10. (We're going through a recession guys, and gas is not cheap! =) ) But if interested, or know of any place interested, please email me ASAP guys! Thanks!

good luck on getting rid of her. i have the same perdicament except mine is 12"-13"

wish hobbyists research their choice of fish b-4 buying. many make the same mistake with many different fish, pacus more so. I suggest CL since it's big in your part of the country.
