I want to convert my 80 gallon tank to a semi peaceful tank. I was thinking a couple of Severums with maybe a couple of Uaru cichlids. This is a planted tank with mostly different kinds of sword plants which I don't want to get eaten. Does anybody have experience with those fish in a planted tank?
If that combo does not work I might do Angels with Eartheaters instead.
All plants are potted in clay pots with gravel on top and potting soil on the bottom but the rest of the tank is play sand.
Thanks

Well apart from, severums and uraus are highly vegetairian, then yeah it will work, uraus need to be kept in groups of 3 or more, the eatheaters/ geophagus and angles would work a lot better, hope this helps.

yeah, I would tend to agree. If you swords are very vigorous, large ans established, you might be ok... fish may nibble but no biggy. But you are taking a slight risk. I have a severum in a planted tank, and I have watched him eat my new anubias shoots then they are tender and also nibble at a sword leaf. He seems to prefer the fresh little anubias shoots though... he did not do much damage to the sword.

Trust me ive had a 6" and a 7" severums in my tanks and even though only a couple were real they still ate them, so if you have lots they WILL eat them.
