I have a 80g sw tank that is empty and i just need some suggestions on what i should put in it. I would like to have a couple fish instead of just a single fish. thanks for the suggestions.

I like wrasses and anthias. Some dont mix well but do the homework and find some that are okay. Royal Grammas look nice as well. Clowns are always nice, make sure you add them last just to make sure they dont pick on any other fish.

Do you plan on adding LR?? are you doing corals??

i was planning on fowlr

ok that make the selection a bit easier. I would still consider some anthias and wrasses. You could also do some butterfly fish that do well in home systems. You have a pred tank and a reef tank already right?? what do you have for stock in both? This will help me give you better ideas.

I had a reef but it was too much hassle on top of all of my other tanks so i got rid of it. I had a lion in my 80g but he quit eating and acted very lethargic and died. I mainly like tangs, wrasses, and triggers.

The only tang you really going to be able to do in that tank is a royal blue. Adding a yellow may be okay but i know its a war waiting to happen. Radiant wrasses, sixline wrasses, fairytale and/or lyretail wrasses are my favorites. Butterfly fish are cool too, and look awsome in a properly stocked tank. triggers would be fine, and you would need to get some larger wrasses to cope with the trigger. I have known some triggers to get fusy about tank mates and needless to say, they are no longer in that tank lol.

That is very true of Triggers. I always refer to my adult Clown Trigger as the only fish that I have ever kept, that "kills with a smile on its face"
So if it is a Trigger you would like, it is advisable to select tank mates of at least the same size, just as an insurance.
