going to tie in a 120GL tank to my 240GL that currently is running a 80GL sump. the 120GL has its own sump right now but i want everything running off of one sump...

all the media from the 120's sump will go in the 80GL sump.

depends on your bio load, media, and turnover rates. I use a 60g sump w/ a 2000gph pump with an FX5 and XP4 on my 375g.

i've got close to 40pds worth of XL ceramic rings and do 50% water changes weekly. tank is populated with large wolfs, XL bichirs and couple large cichlids. smaller tank has a few orino, a tig, a couple pacman cats and a VATF.

nice stock! What's your planned pump output to each tank? I'm not sure how much bio 40lbs of ceramic rings will handle, will you have room to add more or matrix?
