Anyone build a stand for a large tank and have some pics or basic plans that I could use for reference?

8x2 but would be fine for 3' wide. Its all 2x6 with a 2x 12 center brace. Stands really depend on the access you need underneath. Check king of diy on you tube this is his build a little beefier.

I build custom wood stands. Nicer than your typical 2x4 build.
