I have heard that arowanas have to either be housed alone or in groups of 5 or more to keep agression down. Right now I have 4 juvenile silvers in a 125 and two black in a 210 gallon tank. I have a plexiglass tank that is 8x4 being made for me now. I was wondering if that would be big enough to house all six aros. Anybody have any input?

hmmm.... maybe a tight fit. But if the japs can do it i don't see why you can't. As long as the fish stay healthy and not have any physical probs developing it should be fine.

go for it, bro! sounds like an awesome tank...wish that I have one that size. 1.5 tonnes of water should be enuf for 6 aros!

I will for shure. This is great, I bought a house around fitting this tank into it. Im putting it in the garage of my new place. The tanks is being built in Seattle and shipped up to Ak after it is done. Also getting a custom stand. I think I will probably go with an overflow setup, with two big wet drys. But yeah its my dream tank to. :)

8x4x4 for 6 aros should be alright...in fact many people have 6 aros in 6x2.5x2.5 and they still look fine

Yeah but I would feel bad having them in that little of space. Besides they have to share with a tiger shovel nose, two scarlet plecos, and a big endlicheri bichir. So bigger is definatly better.
Water change city, here I come.

that will bea sweet tank mate. i have a acrylic 8x4x2 and i think its massive never mind another 2ft on top of that!!
