They used to have the Rattlesnake Round-Up in a town called China Spring not far from my hometown.People in the area would hunt and bring in live rattlesnakes.There were always a ton over 6' long.A lot of them were cut up and deep-fried with cornmeal.You'd be surprised, they taste like chicken.

I happen to live in Texas and I can tell you for a fact that bad boy IS probably around the 8' - 9' mark. See 'em all the time.
