Friend of mine had a bunch of Cichlasoma dimerus "Bella Union" fry back in June , had never tried them before, so picked up half dozen.
Like this, back in June, at almost an inch
todaythey range 3-4"
What an ugly fish Duane!!! I have prs of t. Mariae to trade (when you get fry) if interested? I'm guessing a perfect "Midwest" summer pond fish for early and late in the season..
I'd do that trade Sam, and yep, I plan on dropping them in the pond once it stops freezing over. Hopefully it'll be full of fry by August.
And again, I haven't found a brown fish I wouldn't go way out of my way for.

Cool let me know when, very nice looking....size of fry doesn't make a difference, Mariae are around 4-6" now, i will start going to wi fishing very soon I could get you the Mariae then or later, did you get them from Matt/cca?
Nice! They are growing into real beauties. I'm always happy to see other people working with Ciclasoma, as they are my favorite cichlids. For me, the reflective blue color on adult C. dimerus makes it one of the most attractive species of Acara.
